Busy Bee

Even when I’m busy,

and it feels like work has taken over my life;

even when I’m high off of bathroom bleach and floor cleaner

and my brain is exhausted from talking to clients for hours on end;

the endless phone calls,

the organizing their life,

the writing for publication;

even when my body is about to collapse

from the walking that never ends,

the cleaning that never stops;

even when I’m completely covered in dog hair

and dirty paw prints

and my legs don’t want to move another inch,

and I feel quite literally brain dead,

I still make time for my people.

They keep me sane.

They keep me motivated.

They keep my priorities straight.

I never saw “being busy” as an excuse to not make time for people.

Because personally,

I need love more than I need money.
